Happy Birthday Traxton!

Yesterday was Traxton's first birthday. I can't believe how fast the time has gone. It definitely doesn't feel like it has been a whole year since he came to our family. He didn't have that great of a birthday since he didn't feel too well throughout the day. He was really cranky and even threw up at one point. He has been getting a lot of teeth, so I am just hoping this is all related to that. We had a family party last night for him and I forgot how not into it they are at one. He did pretty well with the first few presents, but needed help with the rest. Good thing he has some siblings who were willing to jump in.
Traxton is such a good little boy who brings so much love to our family. I love being his mom and can't wait for all the future birthdays with him.

Happy Fathers Day!

I just wanted to wish Jared a happy fathers day. He is such a good dad and helps so much. I know I couldn't stay sane without him. We love you.

Great News

We took Traxton into the audiologist yesterday to have his ears tested again. This is something that we have to do about every six months to make sure his hearing loss hasn't gotten any worse. Such a relief to find out that it hasn't. We love our little Traxton, and wouldn't love him any less if he lost his hearing completely, but we hope so much that it will never happen. Now we won't have to worry for a little while again. He is such a fun little guy who babbles and makes noises all the time. I don't remember loving it as much with my older kids, but every time I hear him make noises, I am reassured that he is hearing. It is a beautiful sound, especially since the doctors told us that at six months old he might stop making noises all together. We are so grateful for the hearing that he has and for the blessings he has brought to our family.

Branding!

Last weekend we went out to my Grandpa's ranch on the Arizona Strip to brand calves. This is something that I did as a kid every year, but surprisingly my kids have never done it before. We had a great day. The weather was great. Ususally it is so hot and dusty that everyone comes home scorched and covered in dirt, but this time we actually had to run for cover from the rain for a few minutes. The kids had a great time playing and "helping". I think they will want to go every year now.

The kids had to be right there for most of the action.

Traxton and my aunt Margie. She is such a lifesaver. Everytime our kids get sick of their parents or we of them, she steps in and takes them. We don't know what we would do without her.

Traxton and my cousins little boy, Clay. They spent some time together in the back of the truck. One day they will do more playing together and not just sitting next to eachother.
