Pure Relaxation

About a week ago Jared and I went on a four day cruise to Cozumel, Mexico. My brother and his wife went with us and we had such a fun time. We went to Cozumel about four years ago and loved it, so we jumped on the chance to go again. The whole trip was spent laying out and totally relaxing. I have been really stressed out lately with being so busy, so I was super grateful to have a break and be able to just spend an entire day laying in the sun. It was blissful.

We played mini golf. I was the winner!!!

We ate way too many ice cream cones. We enjoyed every last sunset. We snorkeled like professionals and saw some amazing fish.
We marveled at the beautiful, crystal clear water.
But mostly we ate way too much food.

We sat by some amazing people at dinner each night. Dan and Della are from Tampa and Dan is a Marine. We found out that he is pretty high up the chain of command. He was very modest about it, but he finally told us that he only calls ninety people "sir". Everyone else calls him "sir".

My brother and his wife have never been on a cruise before and they ended up being a lot of fun. I think we even have them hooked! We are already talking about where we want to go next time.

Peacefull Moments

As a mom I find myself longing for moments of quiet and rest. They are few and far between. Although, maybe because they don't happen very often I am able to appreciate those moments more when they do come. The other night when I came home from work I checked on my kids, just like I always do, and this is what I found.Traxton was sound asleep half off the bed. He must have gotten out of bed to get a book, this is something that happens ALOT, and was just too tired to climb back in. Seeing this brought me peace.

*Last night after a date with my wonderful husband I checked on our kids who were already in bed. (We have amazing babysitters) They all were asleep in Treyson's bed. I especially loved seeing Treyson and Traxton snuggled up together.Traxton is such a little snuggler and I love that he would snuggle into his big brother. Seeing this brought me peace.

*My kids have the best dad ever!!! Jared will spend hours playing with them on the living room floor until they are all completely worn out. One of the things they love to do with their dad is wrestle and play fight. It usually makes me crazy when they do this because everyone gets so wound up, and chances are, someone usually ends up crying before they're done. Something about playing with dad makes them put down whatever they are doing to join in. They love it. My four favorite people loving each other. Seeing this brought me peace.

Fun in the Snow

A few weeks ago we took the kids up to Brianhead to go tubing. They have wanted to go tubing and play in the snow all winter and we figured driving to Brianhead would be a lot easier than finding tubes and snow to do it ourselves. We had such a fun day and I loved that we didn't have to drag the kids and their tubes up a bunch of big hills.

The kids absolutely loved tubing down the hill. Ashten was a little nervous at first. She would only go on the kids lane, but after a few runs she was ready to try the faster, more advanced lanes. Treyson didn't care how fast he went, he said he kept his eyes shut the whole time anyways. And Traxton spent the whole time wedged in his tube. I don't think he quite understood why we kept pushing him down a big hill, but he didn't care either way. He actually fell asleep in his tube a got a good little nap.

The kids keep saying that next time they want to go skiing so they can ride the lift. It didn't really work when we told them that they were too little to ski since we saw practically toddlers skiing like pros all around us. I don't think we are ready to attempt skiing. Maybe we can hold them off with just tubing for a few more years. I'm crossing my fingers.
